“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until i set her free.” As hairstylists we have a soft spot for this Michelangelo quote, That’s what we do, all day, every day. We free angels.
We love being able to physically transform people and put them in better moods. Happiness through hair!
Elany Image was started by Lan Henry as a way to utilize her passion for caring for others. Salon ownership came naturally to her as she comes from a family with many other hairstylists.
We feel our staff has skills not only in cosmetology but also in empathy and client relationships. Every person who sits in our chairs gets the same love and personal attention we value so much. We have a fantastic approach that combines high levels of personal care with a more casual atmosphere, helping salon guests feel quickly at ease and keeping consultations comfortable.
One of our favorite books is “The Secret” it is currently being read by multiple staff members right now. We also like an art project book called “Before I Die…” which is about living life to the fullest with no regrets.
As a salon our goal is to build the success of our staff. Individually we have stylists whose goals include platform artistry, education, editorial work, and charity causes. We work to support those endeavors for them.
Some work life balances that are unique In the cosmetology industry is having a hard time being taken seriously and growing our individual successes. We play with color and do make-up all day, but it’s so much more than that. It’s long hours and missed family dinners so that we can be available to salon guests. It’s being available to clients almost constantly because we genuinely enjoy our relationships with them. The biggest one we see with our staff is having to keep balance for separate Instagram accounts for personal and business use, it’s surprising how tricky that can be.
A big part of the difficulty with becoming an entrepreneur is the amount of time it really takes. everyone has great ideas and great power, but it can be very difficult to get started without having some extra support system egging you on and helping you find balance.
